I love this so much. I spent years apologizing for my sensitivity, my joy, and my very existence—and letting go of that reflex has been one of the hardest and most beautiful parts of my healing.

I actually wrote about what happened when I stopped apologizing here, if you’re curious.

Throwing confetti right alongside you. Thank you for this reminder.

Thank you for sharing! It's such a hard reflex to shake for me still but awareness and practice make it easier (and trying to set a good example for a little one like you are!)

I love all of this! We have a mutual friend who brought me to one of your pink parties years ago, and I thought it was the coolest thing that you celebrate and go BIG for your birthdays. It honestly inspired me to celebrate mine more loudly. It doesn't need to feel icky!

Love that you are highlighting the importance of celebration. It’s reminds me of your posts on discipline as what we are devoted to - a devotion to celebrations big and small.

Particularly fond of the confetti time idea!
